Eclisse, the easy way to open doors
Traditional doors can often be a problem to negotiate,
as to open a door you have to move it away from your
body, and to close it, you need to enter the room and pull
it towards you. This can be cumbersome and awkward,
especially for disabled users, therefore making sliding
doors an ideal alternative.
The Eclisse ‘in the wall’ sliding pocket door systems, distributed
by Ironmongery Direct, represent the real alternative to
conventional doors and are not only much easier to use but
they also create extra usable space making homes or offices
modern, spacious and brighter.
Eclisse have rapidly achieved number 1 status in the UK market
outstripping competitors and making sliding pocket doors an
everyday acceptable feature in new builds and refurbishments.
The three main reasons for this are:
•
They are the strongest pocket sliding door system available.
•
Simple to assemble and easy to fit.
•
More than 16 design and manufacturing patents cover the
unique advantages of the system.
Eclisse frames are installed in over 60 countries.
Features and Benefits
1. Eclisse systems accept UK standard doors and work with standard 100mm finished wall thickness.
2. Easy to assemble and install, the Eclisse system allows the
use of standard materials and is easy to carry.
3. Patented extractable track system can be
completely removed at any time without breaking into walls.
4. As the door does not project into the room or corridor
space it offers an excellent solution to a number of problems
relating to compliance with Part M and the DDA. Fire
approved door systems are also available.
5. Two specially designed runners per door, each having two
chrome steel, ‘sealed for life’ ball bearings carrying up to
80kg. The carriages are completely contained within the
track and cannot jump out.
6. Specially galvanised steel: the frame verticals have a double
fold edge profile which greatly increases strength and rigidity.
7. The Eclisse comes complete with all you need for a beautiful,
professional result.
Get the most out of limited square footage
It is estimated that in the
average home, up to 8%
more space can be released
if a pocket door is used.
Pocket door systems such
as ‘Eclisse’ are perfect for
allowing builders to utilise
the additional space as they
do not have to consider the
space taken up by a door
opening into a room.
Land and floor space are precious commodities within the construction industry and making the
most of sought after square footage is essential in creating ergonomic
designs. Therefore pocket door systems can be essential in overcoming
these problems and utilising maximum space.
Pocket door systems are widely found across
Europe and are beginning
to revolutionise the way we
think about doors in the UK,
as builders are realising
both the space saving and
aesthetic advantages
of installing pocket door
systems.
Pocket door systems are
made from a steel frame and have a overhead running track to which
the door is hung and then slides into the wall. The framework takes
place in the stud wall creating a pocket, so that it seems as if the door
disappears into a wall, flawlessly. No ugly outside runners or mouldings,
the wall is flush and no one can tell there is a frame inside. Smooth opening and closing of the door is assured by
four high tech chrome steel bearings and a self centring guide at the
bottom of the frame.
Supplied with wooden jambs, dust brushes, recessed doorposts and
rubber gaskets, Eclisse pocket door systems are a complete solution,
easy to fit and maintenance free. They are also an excellent solution to a
number of problems relating to the Disability Discrimination Act and Part
M of building regulations as they provide continuous access in and out of
rooms, with uninterrupted surfaces.
Furthermore, as the pocket door system does not protrude into a room,
builders do not have to allow for space usually taken up by a traditional
hinged door. The pocket door systems therefore give architects and
builders more flexibility with the design, as more space is available to them.
Systems suit UK metric and imperial doors and are independently
tested to more than 100,000 open/close cycles, (30 years’ normal use)
ensuring the end user of a life long product that doesn’t fail.
